Favorite Soundtrack Albums #10 - Times Square

Since I usually do two music series at the same time, I figure it's high time to start a new one, a countdown of, instead of focusing on particular songs, my Favorite Soundtrack Albums. As always, we'll begin at #10: Times Square.
Produced by Bee Gee Robin Gibb and producer/songwriter/musician Blue Weaver, the soundtrack for the 1980 film, Times Square, is a double album that's packed with both original and existing punk and new wave songs.
Check out some of the bands featured on this thing: the Pretenders, Roxy Music, Gary Numan, Talking Heads, Joe Jackson, XTC, the Ramones, and The Cure. And that's just a sample.
The soundtrack, which fared better than the film, reached #37 on the Billboard 200, while the only single from the album, "Help Me" by Robin Gibb and Marcy Levy, stalled at #50 on the Billboard Hot 100.
A friend of mine's wife owned this on vinyl. I'm not gonna say that we wore it out, but yeah, we wore it out.

I haven't seen it. Been listening to the soundtrack since the 80's.

@teamfreak16 The soundtrack has outlived what is now an obscure movie.

Never heard of that movie, and that’s strange because I have friends who were seriously into Tim Curry (star of the movie) at the time. I looked at the track listing of the soundtrack, and I’d see that movie for the music in a heartbeat!!

I know. Scrolling through, it's like a who's who of early 80's alternative music.

I've honestly never seen it, either. Been listening to the soundtrack since the 80's.

You think so? That's an interesting take on it. I'll have to listen that way.
