Consistency vs. Integrity vs. Ethics

Some people (or perhaps a lot of people!) confuse consistency with integrity, or even ethics.
When someone follows a consistent approach in life, this means that they don't deviate from a specific path.
However, this doesn't necessarily mean that their consistent approach is based on integrity of character, or generally accepted ethics (if there is such a thing).
Criminals may follow a consistent approach throughout their lives, as some of them consistently violate the law. By no means, this approach can be characterized by integrity, not to say by ethics.
