Special occasions.

I am always reminded by my friend that don't save things for special occasions, because every day in our life's is a special occasions. This is so because I am used to saving my Christmas clothes, plates and only feast during Christmas. How are you mylotters do have special occasions?

You friend is absolutely correct. Though it's also good to save things in special occasions to make things more special on the other hand, we'll never know when is our end so saving things does not guarantee much of the effort.

I like using items seasonally - like decorating for fall, for Christmas... however I agree, life is special... so I use special things at other times too

Yes there are food that I only cook on special occassions like Leche Flan and cakes

That is good advice from your friend. I am afraid that we get bogged down in the day to day grind and we don't remember to look at every day alive as being special. We need to change that in our household.

@RebeccasFarm yes, they have change starting from our lifestyle, dress code, social life, and even most of the education system around the globe as change. Whether the change is for a better tomorrow or its going worsen the life of tomorrow is a question of another day.

I agree, the older you get, the more you appreciate every single moment and regular days become special ones. This quote by Alek Wek I found really sums it up for me: "The most beautiful things are not associated with money; they are memories and moments. If you don't celebrate those, they can pass you by."

There will always be a special occasion but that doesn't mean that you will have to spent a huge amount. Being with friends and family is already considered special. You can bond without spending much like watching a movie together on a weekend with pizza and popcorn.
