In life, there are things we have achieved that make us feel proud, accomplished, and successful, even though others may not think that what we've accomplished is anything to rave about. For me, one of these things is being a published author. Yes, I published my books myself, and didn't look for an agent who'd want to represent me, or a traditional publisher who would want publish my books, but I did it. Sure, some may say I have taken the easy way out, but my dream of being a published author came true. I published ten books, edited and published two poetry anthologies featuring poets from around the world, and I didn't have to empty my wallet to make it happen. It took a lot of hard work to make my dream a reality and I succeeded, contrary to what others may think. And I am very proud of that!!! I just wish I was able to earn enough with my books to consider being a published author as a career... What are some of your achievements that you are most proud of?

You had a goal and you achieved it. Well done and I hope your books sell well. The achievements that I am proud of are all of a spiritual nature and as I look back on my 67 years of life, I'm happy to have done what I did.

It's great to have accomplished things in life that you are proud of. It doesn't matter what those things are, as long as they make you feel like you've succeeded in life.

@lovebuglena Yes, I would not want to be at the end of life and look back with regrets.

That's a great achievement and not necessarily an easy one, especially graduating college.

A person definitely should be happy in life. It's not always possible though because there is a lot of negativity around us, and things that get us down.

I wrote about 40-50 poems, took them to a publisher, and never followed up. Being the writer you are, you are a great challenge to me

@Canaanite If you still want to publish them try Lulu or CreateSpace. Personally, I use Lulu to publish all my books. If you do everything yourself it costs you nothing. They do have paid services though if you don't want to do it yourself or can't figure it out.
