We all want to have good health! What role does water play when it comes to being healthy? The following are things that people do with water to help them stay healthy: * We use water to keep our bodies clean. We all know the importance of washing our hands. * The first thing we should do when we get up is drink 2 glasses of water to hydrate and to give ourselves an internal shower. * Drink 6-8 or more glasses of pure water every day, this will help to clean the kidneys and keep them healthy. * Best to measure the water we want to drink each day in the morning and put it in a container and make sure that by the end of the day it's all drunk because as we get older our thirst mechanism doesn't function well and we can'r rely on it to make sure we are hydrated. Do you have any water tips? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Revelation 22:1 Amplified Bible 22 Then the angel showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb (Christ), Revelation 22:17 Easy-to-Read Version 17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” Everyone who hears this should also say, “Come!” All who are thirsty may come; they can have the water of life as a free gift if they want it. Isaiah 55:1 Easy-to-Read Version 1 “All you people who are thirsty, come! Here is water for you to drink....

I found out you can drink too much water. What I thought was good, and I drank a lot of water the day I ended up in the emergency room, turned out to be a bad thing as it caused my sodium levels to go way down.

@1hopefulman Not to drink as much. He said my three bottles a day that I normally drink is probably fine for me. I go back for more labs this Friday to check my levels again.

Thank you very much for mentioning this. I didn't know that our thirst mechanism doesn't function well when we get older. I will start measuring my daily intake as early as now. Thanks for quoting the bible. Water is really important. :)

Water must be very important ince God made the earth with about 70% water and apparently our body is made up of about 70% water and our brain about 90% water. I found this site that has some important information on water and health.

@1hopefulman I do not rely on the computer, when I had a kidney problem I spoke to my doctor and he told me not to drink more than my kidney could process.

Water is next to blood, almost more important. Nothing is possible without it. We are 90% water. When people get older, they have to make sure they get hydrated and sip on water throughout the day.

Very wise advice! I keep a count and drink a minimum of 4 glasses a day. I also eat a lot of fruits and vegetables that contain a lot of liquid. Today, I ate 5 apples and about 12 bananas and also some celery and lettuce.

@db20747 If we eat living food then we might just live longer and healthier. After my exercises, I ate 8 delicious tangerines and will shortly eat 6 pears. Yummy!

Good one! Water intake is so important but I was surprised when I read "our thirst mechanism doesn't function well" never thought of that before. Must be true because everything else doesn't function as well either.

@1hopefulman I believe it before you do. I try to drink enough each day just to make sure. Though with coffee and juice intake its not always easy to know how much.

As in everything else water in moderation as you are also taking in water from hot drinks, food etc. You can over hydrate which could be fatal for someone with Congestive cardiac failure!

I know I should drink more water but I just can't seem to. Eight glasses a day is a lot and I don't think I could reach that amount. However, I hear that foods with high water content count as well

Actually, after eating meal of course you'll get full but when you feel like your hungry again for like 15 minutes after you eat, that's the way of your body to say that you already need to drink water. It;s not that you're hungry but you just need to consume enough water again.

Without water everything would soon die off. I know many do not respect how important water is. I drink about 4 glasses a day but know I should drink more. When there is water in my thermos that has not been used, I will pour it over plants or flowers outside rather than pour it down the drain.

Water is very essential for our body.It removes toxins from our body.As soon as we wake up in the morning we should have a glass of water. It purifies our whole system ,and it is good for the proper functioning of our brain. Before having our food we should have a glass of water,so that we don't over eat..

Very good! I usually have two glasses before I eat and sometimes 3 but I always wait a 1/2 hour after drinking water before I eat anything. It is supposed to give the body time to use the water properly.
