A Message That Found Its Way To Me, Right When I Needed It

@andriaperry posted a discussion on Sunday about a sermon she'd watched that hit home for her, and wanted to know if we ever had a message hit close to home with us right when we needed to hear it. I'm not religious but I do believe that sometimes a message, in one form or another, finds its way to us when we really need to hear it.
Low and behold, last night I was scrolling through Facebook when this quote from Anne Rice popped up in my newsfeed:
"I get feelings of total defeat. I get feelings of total nihilism. I get so depressed sometimes that I look at my hands and I think why even lift them off the table...why turn on the computer...why touch the keys...why write anything? But what I do then is write about that. If nothing else, I turn it on and I write about despair, and I try to write my way through it. I think the most important thing, more than anything in the world, is to write, and use any excuse in your mind that you can to write. Don't ever let despair or depression stop you. Remember this, that if you don't write it, it isn't going to be there. It's that simple. And, if you are really down and out and really sad, look at it this way--decide that you are going to write it, and if you don't like it, you are going to throw it away. I've done that quite a few times, and I've never wound up throwing the book away."
-- Anne Rice
This definitely hit close to home with me, as I often feel like a failure as a writer and like there's no point for me to even write. Sometimes my depression tries to completely overtake me. I suppose that means I'm in good company, as most writers deal with this crippling self-doubt at times.
Anne Rice's message about writing in spite of the depression, or because of it, is one I needed to hear (or read) and it found its way to me right when I needed it. Which strengthened my belief that there's something in this universe that makes sure we receive the right message when we need it the most. Even if it is just a poignant quote from a fellow writer.

That`s good..Sometimes, We all needed some wake up messages to realize something that needed to be done than focusing on our self depressing feeling moments. A message that will help us to give ourselves a chance to move forward and see what we can do best in the future

Oh my .thank you for this. You know this feeling sucks. Truly. But I'd bear this in mind. Sometimes, in solitude, I just stay lying in bed. Doing nothing. It felt like I'm being the laziest person in the world that breathing sometimes is too laborsome for me. But I try to encourage myself that maybe I'd better write about it. To express this heavy feeling against my chest. But most times, I just find it hard to do so

You're welcome. I know it's hard. In my darkest moments I have thought 'I should write this so others know they're not alone in experiencing it.' Sometimes, maybe, I can get a poem written. Although I don't write poetry as much these days. I was better about writing through my darkness when I was younger. Now I just lay in bed and sleep.
