Truthfully, I just started college as a freshmen; and it is already taking up majority of my time and energy. Most likely, because of my major which is biochemistry... I am having a hard time balancing life and college. Is anyone else having the same issue?

It will take time. You will get adjusted soon

Balancing personal and professional life is never easy... but a good start would be to shed the over-achiever mentality. Contrary to what one may think, you needn't achieve perfection in any of these lives. On the contrary, reaching a level of balance without over-stretching yourself to impossible lengths may be more productive in the long run.

maybe you're just in the adjustment phase. is this your first semester as a college freshman? and if you're away from home, that could be another factor too. by the way, what made you choose biochemistry?

We all passed there.Work with no play makes Jack a dull boy...Ever heard of that saying?
As much as you have to study take a break and do other things you love otherwise you might get burnt out and start hating your studies.Enjoy your youth.Work smart and not hard.

The start is always hard, it was like that for me too. Once you've settled down into a normal routine it would be easier. It took me a whole semester to adjust completely.
