This tenant search is getting crazy

So, I have this woman calling me who has been living in a camper. She does have income though..She has no car. I am willing to be charitable..but I have the feeling if she gets in here..I might not be able to get her out. Plus I do believe she is slightly mentally challenged. Someone is driving her hre,,a boyfriend or something and I was trying to give him directions..and I could not understand a word he was saying..She just called me..they are way off course..Lord knows when and if they will ever get here. I just have not had many people call about the room, many express interest but when it comes down to it, they don't follow up..Sigh! I think I should wait until there is someone I feel comfortable with, but it would be a struggle financially. I really can't afford to have this sitting vacant. Darn, why can't I find a good person? One guy seemed really good, but he was expecting to work in this area and said he wasn't selected for the job..Of course, he could have let me know..!

However, in this area far away from most the world...there is no guarantee the right person is going to come along.

Yeah I would wait till I found someone that you feel comfortable with but then the lady that has been calling you might be pretty helpful..

Yeah,,I know..Apparently she has a child she is trying to get custody of..but I told her no child is going to live here.

My sister had renters living, in two rooms of her large home. Very often, she ended up feeding all of them, but when rent came due, the money quite often, wasn't there.

Well I told her if she moves in it would be month to month..so any month no pay out she goes.

@vsai2008 I met her today. She seemed OK, but I would rather rent to someone else. Too many potential problems there.

My former roomie was ill mannered and didn't like to clean..but I put up with him because he always paid his rent on time..and was also good at fixing things, plus he stayed in his room 95 percent of the time.

I am actually, a counselor by trade. I feel I can deal with most situations, but honestly, I have my doubts about this woman.

I know! a disabled vet who sounds fairly credible just called me. He has family in the area and is willing to put down a deposit, but the issue is he is currently in WVA Maybe, I will tell him to have family members look at the room and put down the deposit if they think it wll work for him.

You need to be sure you feel good about the person living with you. Hopefully she is the one or you get another tenant soon.

Not sure about that...most people who work, work int he cities and that is pretty far from here. Local employees don;t seem inclined to follow up
