So there is a lot of buzz about this cryptocurrency thing, yesterday it jumped, with prize change of almost 200 dollars!! I am really amazed and shocked at the same time, and I have been doing a lot of research on how to MAKE bitcoins... so here is what I found after all the research. 1- A normal pc, the ones we use at homes, won't be able to make that much if you use them for mining. 2- You could buy space for mining from these companies, they will get you a contract of 2 or 3 years, so their machines will mine for you, and you can then withdraw the coins to your wallet. 3- You could buy these kickass expensive but EXTREMELY powerful machines, manage to have them installed in a cool place, connect them to the internet and mining pools, and voila. I am really excited about all this... are you? What do you think of bitcoin and whats your experience?

You can also look for crypto-currencies other than bitcoin that you can mine with a normal CPU on a normal computer... Many are, technically speaking, more advanced than bitcoin, which is mainly a speculative investment.

@zainkhan121 No, I did not named any alt-currency, you will have to do some homework. I have an experiment in progress : I am actually mining one in background that had its value x3 in the past 2 months. The result is that there are many more people mining it today, and that I earn half less/day now than 2 months ago, which is not good.

Buying bitcoins or satoshis in small amounts and getting some for free through sites on an almost daily basis and holding on to them seems and has become more profitable and practical for me instead of engaging in mining.

Bitcoin are too hard to mine, I only use faucets to get those coins.

I think the best time to get into Bitcoin has passed sadly. One of my friends bought bitcoins a few years ago, and recently sold them for many times what he paid! He used some of the profit to pay for a very nice holiday!
