Mildred the Cat - miffed at my mom

Hi everybody. It’s Mildred the Cat. I hope you’re all having a great day. As is often the case, I have an issue with my mom and also with one of her friends.
Said friend posted on Facebook this morning that she has a mouse living in her house and she’s not all that happy about it. I expressed an interest in said mouse and would like to schedule a play date. So far the friend hasn’t responded. I asked my mom to put in a good word for me and try to arrange something. She flatly refused.
Geeeeezzzzz! My mom actually questioned my intentions, remarking that my type of play might not be something the mouse would be interested in. I insist my intentions are pure and friendly and neighborly. My mom won’t budge.
I’m reaching out to you, my friends and fans. How can I get in that house and play with that mouse?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Till next time, purrs, paws and high fives.

I promise I'll be nice but I don't think my mom entirely believes me. She's thinking more lilke PETA is probably thinking.

Dear Auntie Mildred the Cat, I have read something on the internet about Lyfts and Ubers. I don't know what those things are, but perhaps one of them might facilitate your play date. Just be sure to get home before nap time. Lovingly, Huckleberry the Cat, Kitty Blogger

Thanks, dearest Huckie. I'll keep that in mind for next time. I don't get too many opportunities like that one, which sadly has passed. Somehow the mouse disappeared. I had nothing to do with it.

I'm trying but it's hard. Good thing I have lots of toys and chicken treats that help ease the pain of being an indoor-only cat.

@LindaCPearson Sometimes those little furry monster pests come into the house. We live near fields. So.... cats have play times.

I've never had a play date. You're lucky. I'm also an indoor cat only, as we live on a very busy street. My mom doesn't want me to get hurt.

You are right. No playdate has been scheduled and I think it isn't going to happen.

Sounds like a plan but I don't think it will happen. The mouse lives several miles away and my mom won't drive me over there.

Cat and mouse meetings can be so gruesome.

I have a feeling that's why my mom won't let me go to the mouse's house.

How about a game of hide and seek with the mouse?

Sounds great, if I could only get there. It's not looking too good from here.

Great idea! Now I just have to see if my mom will give me the address. I'll let you know if it works.
