Yes, UN General Assembly resolution A/RES/61/271 of 15 June 2007, marks The International Day of Non-Violence on 2 October. As an Indian it is pride , still I favour Bachchu Singh and revolutionary leaders more.

You got a valid file, yes UN accepted it as international non violence day and it is pride for India that an Indian is accepted for his works, but we still know freedom was fought by revolutionary leaders, not by charkha.

Yes 2 October is national holiday, this day is also celebrated as international day of non-violence by United Nations. We in India are celebrating this day since childhood. But I prefer Bhagat Singh and Bachchu Singh more.
