Crocs, in this case are foam rubber shoes, but I could say the same about crocodiles, the animals. I hear Balenciaga had a runway model wear platform crocs on the runway this year. My sister-in-law and brother both find them very comfortable, either buying the real item or a Wal Mart knock off, but my foot doctor will not wear them for anything. I won't either. They do not have enough structure to support my knees, or my feet for that matter. They are sloppy and loose fitting, your feet slide back and forth. Of course, if I got a reptilian Croc, he would probably bite my legs off and then I would have no problem with this at all. Strange what your mind will think of, early in the morning.

I have had several crocs but not that style. Just the brand and I have them in slip on thongs, ballet flats, high heeled sandals. They were really comfortable but not that crocodile style one.

I mostly wear athletic style shoes with ties as they help my feet and knees. I have some boots and other flats. I have to have a good arch support.

Yes, strange indeed. Crocs seem to be coming the rage. A real fashion flurry.

I have never owned a pair and never will. I rather have a nice sandal.

A good sandal is better for my feet. These look like children's shoes.

I have several pairs of crocs. I used to wear them a lot. They are not good to wear in the rain. I try to wear them inside the apartment now.

I might wear them as house shoes or possibly to garden. Are they slippery in the rain?

They are great for getting out of the shower as they are virtually non slip. Apart from that they are not the ideal shoe to wear but I had to wear a pair for months due to lack of cash to be able to buy any but I did dump them eventually thank goodness.

Some people told me they are not good to get wet, too slippery. I would probably use them as mud shoes if I were to buy some, but I do not foresee it happening.

@GardenGerty They were all I had as house slippers at the time and we do live in a very muddy place as there is no real grass in the back part either so they really did come in handy and yes watch out as you can slip on wet floors wearing them. Same as flip flops are only good for the beach.

I agree with your assessment of crocs. They look like your feet will slide all over the place inside them, especially if you get even a little bit sweaty. Plus, I never really liked the looks of them either.

@GardenGerty I can only imagine how horrible they must be to wear in the rain! You probably slip and slide all over the place in those things.

I have some of that sort, but only because I was given a pair. They are handy for slipping on when I want to just pop outside to feed the chickens or empty the bin, but otherwise I always wear 'proper' shoes. They can also be very slippery when the ground is wet.

I picked up some cloth slippers with hard rubber soles yesterday. I had to shop for stuff in case hubby had to stay at the hospital overnight. I do like being able to slip into things quickly.

I had Plantar Facitits and was told to wear them to help my feet. My options were staying off my feet for 6 months to a year to let my feet heal or try wearing crocs. I tried the crocs thing and in 3 weeks my pain was gone after 3 years of incredible pain. Now I wear them as much as possible and my plantars has never come back. I love them and recommend them to everyone.

Hmm. My foot doctor does not like them, at least not for me. I had severe foot problems when I worked in one particular school because of the concrete underlayment. It gave me tendonitis.

Wow that's quite a testimonial for foot pain. My main concern is support. Do they offer support?

@Marilynda1225 I have never noticed actually one way or the other, they are just as comfortable as you can get in my opinion. My suggestion to you is to buy a cheap pair at Walmart and give them a try. You can get them for 4 or 5 bucks. I don't wear the crocs they are really expensive, but they are a miracle as far as I'm concerned, I could hardly walk at all without pain and now I wear them every day and so far my Plantars has never returned. I have about 6 pairs now and will never not wear them.

From what I have seen, kids love them. When my kids were young, the "jelly" shoes were popular. My daughter had a pair of those. My son had a pair of crocs at one time. People told him that they looked like clown shoes.

I've never been interested in buying those crocs for the same reason...no support and my feet and knees would complain. However I do know people who find them extremely comfortable (especially chefs and nurses) but since I've never worn them I can't say yes or no on that.

I have two pairs; one like that blue-colored in the picture which I use inside our home and one that is like a ballet flat shoes I wore outside. I bought them when I had aching legs/feet problem and I can not wear any other kind of shoes/sandals because my feet were swollen that time.

I wore them when I cooked for a living. They were recommended by Mario Batali for wearing in the kitchen. They sure kept my feet from hurting (but only the real ones... the knockoffs weren't cushiony enough).

I wear them in the house as they offer a way for your feet to remain cool. However, I wouldn't walk any distance in them as they have a 'floppy' feel to them.
