I'm the Mother of a 49 Year Old

I know it seems impossible, was I only 2 when he was born? lol My eldest son Steve turned 49 on Saturday and I am so proud of him. He is the father of 2, my eldest grandson Dan and my youngest granddaughter, Syd. He is an RN and frankly, the apple of his mom's eye!!
I remember so well the morning he was born, it was 3:30 a.m. and I had been in labor for over 40 hours. He looked like Hubert Humphrey, it was 1968 and Hubert was running for president. He was always the best little boy, my best bud. He saved my sanity when I lost my second son (Daniel) when Steve was 18 months old.
We spent a lot of quality time together he and I, my hubs was working two jobs and not home very much. He grew up to be a charming man who has so much empathy, he makes a perfect nurse.
I now have to share my darling with his wife Kristin but I don't mind, he is happy and what more would a mom ask?
Right, this minute, he is off fishing with his dad, he and my daughter bought my hubs a new smaller bass boat to keep here at the lake in Connecticut near our home. Steve bought his dad a vest to wear that will inflate if he falls out of the boat, the Parkinson's worries him.
Steve has turned into a very nice person, financially responsible and a wonderful father and husband and a son any mom would be proud to call her own. So happy birthday to my darling son, you will always be my little boy even if you are 6'3"' tall lol

I know how you feel. My son just turned 50 and although I was a little older than two when he was born, I really was a youngin! Happy birthday to your son, I know you're proud of him.

@thelme55 I married at 18 and I am still madly in love with my husband so though I was young it was a good choice.

Thank you, my daughter in law, the wife of my younger son orchestrated it and took the picture. She thought we would like a picture of us with just our children, and so I do.

It's a wonderful thing when your son grows into the man you had always hoped he would be. I hope to see my sons turn 49, however I had my sons when I was in my mid 30's so I am 59 my oldest is 26, so I will be 82 when my oldest turns 49. Lets hope.

I have a grandson who will be 29 this month and a granddaughter who will be 26 in January. lol I guess I will be 87 when he turns 49 and 90 when she does. Since my mom is 102, I guess it might just happen lol

@BelleStarr she mentioned next year that she will be turning 40 and what laughed about someone having a surprise party for her. I of course will do my best to pull that off for her.
