What is ailing East African nations

Going through the news recently I am unable to understand what ails these East African nations. Uganda's parliament is a wrestling ring while the first Rwandan female candidate is facing a jail time for contesting. The Kenyan government is hurrying to change election rules while many are dying in Burundi.

You are right. These people behave like retards. They have little regard to human life and will jail and kill to advance a political cause.

I feel this is not an ailment of east African countries only, but Africa as a whole. Things are not any different in West Africa.
