We often remember some of our favorite dishes cooked by our mothers.
As kids most of us visit our grandparents' home during holidays.During these times grandma will be making many special things for us.
Thinking back, now as adults some think the mother was a very good cook where as others think the grandmother was a better cook.
As for me,I think My mother was a better cook.My children too think my mother was better. That means we agree.
How about you?

@cahaya1983 That's great! Fortunately for me, my husband comes from a family of great cooks. He talks fondly of his grandmother's and mother's cooking all the time. All his brothers and sisters are good cooks and one of them even owns a very successful restaurant.

I would have to say my grandmother was the better cook - my dad's mother. She took time with her cooking, even slow cooking it to bring out the flavors. It was always delicious, no matter what she made. My mother was a good cook too, but there wasn't any 'time' involved in Mom's cooking.

@silvermist They were all good, but the one that comes readily to mind is her chicken noodle soup. She made it from scratch. Large noodles, carrots, onions, nice big chunks of chicken. It was delicious. Of course when I was eating it I had no idea I was allergic to chicken.

They both were equally as good Starlight in different foods.
I believe now that with all I had learned from the two of them, I am the better of all

My grandmother was definitely a better cook. My mother never taught me how to cook, so my poor husband had to suffer my learning!

My mom for sure is much better. My grandma, she has some good meals, but she overloads everything with pepper so it makes a lot of meals just really gross. That is an Irish woman for you though haha

@DesirousDreamer Does your grandma use so much pepper because she likes it.?Or she has always been used to putting pepper into her dishes?

"Mother knows best", they say and true enough she cooks better than Grandma... actually both of them cooks good the only thing with grandma is she would not put too much it, like a little salt or a few sauce that's already fine for her...
