It's Been A Long Time

I used to get to the ocean every few years. My ex and I would go occasionally. One time we followed a family of three whales up Highway 101 for several miles. Another time my ex and I went to Vancouver, British Columbia Canada and on up to the San Juan Islands. We stayed the night at Friday Harbor which is a very small island. We stayed in the park on the far side of the island. I recall being awakened several times during the night with boats sounding off to one another on the water.
Looking back now I remember a feeling nearly like I was on another planet each time I visited the ocean. The breeze, the smell, the scenery. It was so different from what I am used to in this part of the country. I live in an inland city surrounded by three mountain ranges. The city I live in has a river running through it but nothing like the ocean.

I live a long way from the ocean, in Central Texas. I have just returned from cruising to Bermuda from NYC. I love the ocean and wish I could move back to a port city. I try to go on a cruise once a year.
My next cruise will be next September. I am going to Seattle and sailing to Alaska.
I see that you live in Boise. It may not be on the ocean but you are in the mountains, also very beautiful and spiritual.

You explored where I like to explore. Salt Spring island off Victoria, British Columbia is a sweet spot for us. Green and alive and oh the food! Strawberries bought from a farm. I hope you make it back to that Eden next year or so.

So what's stopping you now to take a trip close to the ocean?

It is so out of this world. So peaceful and the sound of the ocean is mesmerizing.
