DIY vs READY MADE

October 4, 2017 10:53am CST
I sometimes like to make an extra effort and make things for my daughter like crochet dresses and boots.. I've seen one in the mall almost the same pattern, given my work is not as perfect as the one in the mall but the price is outrageous!!! It's one of the reasons why I make things for her. Of course the other reason is that I want to a little more love with the things I give her.. What about you guys?

If I'm creative as you, then I would do DIY, I tried it before, its just didn't go as expected so better for me to have ready made instead.

it took me a LONG time before my projects became presentable.. I had time to practice before hahaha but now, not so much :_

Yeah, I can totally relate! I have a hard time finding clothes I like for myself - given the price, size, style, etc. it is so hard to find something just right. I sometimes make things but I wish I was better at it so it would actually turn out wearable :) But I have made a couple dresses for my school dances back in high school. It ended up being like $10-$15 in the end.

When you make things on your own then you learn and your creativity gets enhanced. Readymade things can't contain that love which you put to make dresses and boots. It always feels special to make things by own and then present it to our loved ones.

that's exactly how I feel when I know I can make something rather than buy it :)

I love to crochet things for my kids. I do pretty good at making tops, dresses, skirts, shawls etc. I wish I could read patterns! So all my stuff is trial and error until project is completed. Personal is better than store bought every time !
