My homemade tomato soup

Since it is cooler here in Oregon now, I decided to make some tomato soup. It was made in a vitamix , snd really tastes good. I purchased a vitamix cookbook on Amazon, not yo long ago, and it is from that, that I made this tomato soup. I love the fact that it will make soups and heat them up, just by letting it run from 3-6 minutes. The friction from the blades, causes heat to form inside the canister. If you have never had soup in a vitamix, you don’t know what you are missing. It tastes much better than any soup you buy in a can, and I know exactly what I put into it. There are no harsh chemicals, only vegetables, cashews, broth, and a few seasonings. It is really a delicious soup and one that I will make often, since winter is coming.

I hope you don't reheat the soup in the Vitamix. If the machine doesn't get hot enough to bring the soup to a boil you could get sick. My mom used to make the best home made tomato soup. Then Campbell's came into our lives.

No I don’t reheat it, as it is just enough for one meal, so I eat it up. I make sure I let it run long enough to get it hot, and if I didn’t, I would put it on the stove, and heat it up.

You got that right. I am enjoying finding new recipes and experimenting as it is all trial and error mostly anyway. This soup though, was good the very first time I made it, and it still is.

@kobesbuddy Yes it is the best for sure. I wish I had bought it sooner. I just didn't want to do it, but now, I realize that I did the right thing. I love looking for new recipes to do. That is the best part of it all. I love makiing my own food, as I know what i put in them and that is why I do it.

I love it too. It is my favorite soup. I also have a recipe for cauliflower soup too, and that one is also delicious and very creamy. What makes it creamy are the cashews. I had never put cashews in soup, and wasn’t sure how it would taste. It really tastes good, and I really don’t taste the cashews anyway.

Not sure what a vitamix is, but I plan to make some squash soup this week. Looks like it might be Friday...tomorrow I will be going to the hospital again to visit my father.

A vitamix is a high powered blender made here in the United States, in Cleveland, Ohio. People have been know to use them for many years, as you just can’t break them. It has a 5 year warranty as well. I am sure njoying it do much, that I find new recipes of things to make. I just wish I had invested in one a long time ago. Making soup in it is just one of the many things that can be made using it, I would prefer to make my own soup, instead of eating from a can, as it is more healthy as I am not putting bad chemicals in my body.

@rosekiss over the years I've owned a couple of blenders. I always found that cleaning them made their use impractical for me. I use a hand mixer or a masher and the. It might not be as smooth as a blender makes it...but my counter isn't cluttered....and my cleanup is less time consuming. I know many who love their blenders...but I just never seemed to adapt to them.

@Morleyhunt You use what works best for you. There is no cleanup with the vitamix, as it cleans itself. I uust put some water in the canister, an a drop of soup, put it on the base, run it on high for a few secondes, rinse it out, and dry it. I don't have any blades to remove as they are fixed into the canister. I only have to celean out the canister and the lid, and that is it. No cleanup, and that is what is so great about it. I had a ninja that I had to take the blade out, clean it, plus the canister, and the lid. Lots of work, and it just didn't work for me to blend like it should. I am very pleased with the vitamix, as it is the best investment I have made.

I have had cold soup, but not a fan of it, as I prefer hot soup, even though in the summer, it is to hot to eat soup. I make a lot of things in my pampered chef quick cooker, which is a pressure cooker, only an electric one. Foods taste so good, and fixed so much faster. Cooking now, is a lot more fun with it, than it used to be.

@JudyEv it certainly is, as it cuts the time I spend cooking, especially, in the summer, when it gets hot. I find it unbearable to be cooking in the heat, as I don’t have an ac.

@shubhu3 It sure is. Some might not turn out as good as I would like, but this tomato soup, has from the first time I made it. I have a vitamix cookbook, that has 400 recipes in it, and the tomato soup is one of them. It is easy to make and takes no time at all. It is creamy and tates so good. I hope to find more recipes I can do, as I like a variety of things to do make. I have 2 vegan cheese recipes, one is sliceable and the other is a sauce for man and cheese, and whatever you want io put it on. They are both delicious and healthy as well.

It was absolutely delicious. Making it myself, I know what is in it. I don’t have to worry about putting harsh chemicals in my body. I love doing it, as I am having so much fun, experimenting with new recipes, as it is basically trial and error, especially when I am making something for the first time. This recipe though, has come out every time I have made it.

I try to make my own food as much as possible. The chemicals in food we buy in the store, is enough to make me want to pull my hair out. I have lost over 50 pounds since I have started on my journey, and I am happy about that.

I certainly did, as it was so good, as it was made from scratch, and that is the best way to make anything, as I know what I put in all the foods I make.

It is so much better to make your own, as that way you know what is in it, as we avoid all the chemicals that the canned ones have.

I am having fun making my own soup, as I know what it is in it. There are no harmful chemicals that are used as in all processing of food. It is much healthier to make our own food whenever possible-
