Hello friends,
I'm Chibi (Muser) who is back on myLot after like real ages. I parted ways with myLot a few years back when i got a job which kept me busy travelling a lot and dint give me enough time to spend time on laptops.
I'm still working, however, i strongly felt like i needed to get back to this site. I've been working for long hrs and quite frankly, i dont get enough time to even go out for a coffee with friends / colleagues for that matter.
I see this place as that much needed coffee break in my day to day life.
So, not much has changed, I like the new look and feel of this new myLot, however, what i dint understand is the rating concept, it is new to me. Where can i see my rating??
Also, i would like to know how i can make a mention of someone on my responses/discussions.
Any help appreciated, Thanks in advance, Have a good day ahead friends :)

@hereandthere that is a great help indeed.
@Chibi05 we do not have sections like Sports, Movies etc anymore, and ratings are also not there. But the free flowing format and no pressure (psychologically) of rating is a big plus.

@Chibi05 There's also a'Suggest' button under all discussions but your own so that, if you see a discussion which you think one of your followers might like or ought to be involved in, you can 'suggest' it to him/her.
Suggesting one's own discussions was removed quite soon after the feature was introduced because it was felt that being able to suggest one's own discussions was too 'promotional'. The same might apply to 'mentioning' other members in your discussion just in order to 'tag them along', as you put it, so I'd recommend being careful how you do 'mention' other users.

There isn't a 'rating' or a 'star system' any more. That was abolished (together with 'categories' and 'interests') with the new look (in 2013).
The number you see beside your name is the number of posts (discussions+responses+comments) you have made. It has little if anything at all to do with earnings or anything else much. Earnings are now based on the interactions you receive from others, not on anything you do (though, of course, you have to post something in order for people to interact with it and the more that you interact with others, the more likely it is that they'll want to interact with you!)
You can 'mention' someone in your discussions/responses/comments provided that you follow the Guidelines, the 'mention' is relevant to the discussion and, of course, not 'flaming' or hurtful, and that the post isn't addressed specifically to that person (i.e. not something which would really be more suitable as a Private Message). You 'mention' someone by puting an '@' symbol before their username, like this: @Chibi05

@Chibi05 I've been here since October 2006 and still hooting!
I had forgotten about that restriction until you mentioned it elsewhere (and you now have the answer). Of course, it's something that very few of the 'old lags' here see (unless we happen to start afresh with a new account as the - currently - @JolietJake has done countless times in the 11 years he's been here!)
I think that that restriction of a user rating of 10 is the only one left now. There used to be restrictions of 100 and 200, if I remember rightly. One was for using emoticons and the other was, I believe, for copying and pasting.

@owlwings : I remember you. One of those few people who always helped us with information about mylot. I'm really happy to see familiar names still on the site :)
As far the rating is concerned, i wasn't referring to the post rating, this was something else. I'm regretting the fact that i dint take a screenshot of the msg i saw under my bio and website field before posting the discussion here. I'm surprised that you guys arent even aware of that. I would like someone from the admin group have us answered or explain about it.
and I'm really sorry i couldnt explain better with a pic about my confusion :(

@JolietJake copy paste was one thing worth all the celebrations. I was in the habit of writing on a notepad and copy pasting stuff. Without copy paste, I used to prepare posts and then type the whole thing again. Sigh**
