Day 49 Isaiah 55 55:1 Ho, every one that thirsts, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. 2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? And your labor for that which satisfies not? Hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. 3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. 4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people. 5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou know not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee. 6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and returns not thither, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. 12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. 13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off. What is on your heart and mind for your family, friends, and yourself? What do you hope will happen in your lifetime? God told Isaiah and his people, he heard the longing in their hearts. He told them he was near, heard their prayers, and yet at the same time, their ways were not his ways because his ways were higher, better than what they could imagine. When God speaks, his will is accomplished – every time. As Christians, you know your ways are no match for what God can do in your life. You are a product of someone’s prayers on your behalf, a word that went out and touched the heart of God and he sent his Word, and caused your salvation. Jesus told the people about Satan’s tactics against them, but he also told them what he would do for them. John 10:10 The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (KJV) Are you looking for the abundant life Jesus promised you, but all you see is a meager hanging on existence? God said, Ho every one who is thirsty to come. You don’t need any money for what God has already given you. God is your provider. Psalm 23:1 < The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou prepare a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. God prepares our food, and rest. He leads us, restores us, and comforts us. He causes us to sit with our enemies and be fed. He anoints us with the oil of the Holy Spirit so that his blessings overflow in our lives. His goodness and mercy follows us wherever we go and we have eternity with him waiting for us when this life is over. There is no reason for anybody to live a meager existence who trusts God. He is your Jehovah Jireh. He is your Shalom, peace, that passes all understanding. When God provides for you, you don’t need money, you need faith. His abundance is waiting on you to believe him for it. Do you have family members who need to know Jesus as Savior and Lord? Do you have trouble in your marriage, home, or work? Let God restore you and give your life back to you in a way only he can – above what you can imagine. His ways are higher than your ways. Let’s pray: Father, restore my life. Let me be found in you. Let your Word go forth in my life, doing more than I can imagine. Restore my family, bring them back to you. Let your peace rest on me as I trust you to take care of me and those I love.
