I remember a year ago, when our officer in charge asked me if I eat exotic foods like Snake or Dog. I said no I don't, the most exotic food I've tried was the grilled frog legs.
So my OIC, order my male office mate to buy some fruit bats, since he heard that they have fruit bats in their town.
The next morning, my office mate brought a sack of fruit bats, they are so huge the biggest is 2 feet . They cooked it, adobo w/ gata. They fry it first after that they add adobo seasoning then the gata (coconut milk).
Then our OIC challenged us that we couldn't go home until I tried to eat some. Its like a fear factor challenge, but in the end I was able to try eat because the smell of the Adobo w/gata is so mouthwatering, when I opened the pot it doesn't look like bats at all, they look like chicken adobo and taste like chicken as well.
How about you what was the most exotic food you have tasted?

@responsiveme If it looks like scrambled eggs and not worms, I might be able to eat it :)

@responsiveme That is extreme, I don't think I can eat silk worms. when the bats were cooked, they don't like bats at all, worms would still look worms, i think. :)

well, the snake and dog or cat or frogs' legs are not exotic for me. I only tried the porridge of frogs. Others I didn't tried before and wouldn't try in the future. But I never heard of fruit bats...That's er... hard to take.

@Behindtheguitarbar, Well imagining bats is really hard to take, its kinda gross. But when you see it cook there is no trace of bats at all. :)

@Behindtheguitarbar So true, if you don't know what it is, and looks good, you might end up eating it :)

I don't think I'd like to eat bat although if it doesn't look like a bat perhaps I could.

The most exotic food I've ever tasted is the eggs of ants... red ants. I considered this very exotic because its very rare you can find the ants eggs. Though its common during the start of rainy season but I have not tasted the brown beetle they people here love to chump.

I can't remember anything I've eaten really exotic. I have eaten venison, calamari, and sushi though, which if exotic, is probably enough for me.

I ate crickets. And some people think raw fish is 'exotic' but I don't think so.In our family, we call it sashimi.
