I Just Saw Some Kitchen Rules

I just saw some kitchen rules printed on a towel and wanted to share them with you:
"If you empty it, FILL it.
If you dirty it, CLEAN it.
If you open it, CLOSE it.
If you spill it, WIPE it up.
If you cook it, SHARE it."
I can honestly say I do all these. (Of course, when we cook it's for everyone, like lunch or dinner.)
I'm the one who tends to notice - and act on - all the little things that most of the people here always forget.
Maybe becausue I'm quick to imagine the consequences (like spillage, spoilage, and wastage), or potential danger (cuts and scrapes, slip and fall and broken bones).
Some will notice - then comment aloud about them - but won't act on them, either. Sheesh.
Do you follow these kitchen rules?
Or are you the forgetful one who has to be reminded?
Well, hopefully, you're not the one who complains and criticizes aloud, but won't do anything, either!
Hmm, would anyone admit to being one?

I don't have kitchen rules, I guess only the chef of the restaurant does

do you ever get annoyed when the people you live with don't do those things and leave them all up to you?

I do those things automatically on my own without someone dictating it or posting it at home if others forgot it then I just do it and let them helped me

it's automatic for me, too. some do as they're told when you tell them. but some are just indifferent.

I'd love to print that, frame it and hang it on my kitchen wall! I'm glad that I do all of those out of my own initiative too, can't stand a messy kitchen.

i don't like wasting anything, either, whether it's food or a non-food items cleaning or laundry stuff like soap, detergent, etc.

I live alone so nothing happens that is not my fault and I have no one to blame but myself and I don't want to live in a pig sty and so I always clean after myself and make sure that things are ready for my next meal preparation.

Since I am hardly seen in the kitchen, I don't know such rules exist at all!

I so agree with if you open it close it. I hate when the bread is left open or the milk.

i hate it when the lid of containers aren't pressed down or screwed on properly, as in the bottle of soy sauce, a tupperware of leftovers, or the rice.

I can't say I always follow these rules but once in a while I do this without being seen by others.
I also observed that, those people who are always complaining even for just small things are the ones not doing their thing but those who are working are not complaining. Instead of complaining they just do it, I think I'm like this most often, though not all the times.

exactly! if they don't want to help, then don't complain or criticize.

I do follow those rules, but only with the word "LATER" at the end of each of those .
I'd have to say our kitchen is the most organized room in the house . . . it has to be as it's used all the time. Spills and such - oh yes, it must be cleaned up immediately. I like to put things away as I use them. Cleaning - I like to clean as I go too, but sometimes we are pressed for time and have to deal with it later (thank goodness for the dish washer). It drives me crazy though when the kids leave stuff out .

Vince sometimes tells me if something is empty/misplaced/needs wiping whatever but he's a bit slow to act on it himself. But because he cooks for me full-time, I never say anything. If it starts to really annoy me, I'll say something but till then it's all good.

two people here are one-sided, while the other need to be reminded or have a quality checker.

our kitchen has these reminders in cardboard. no, not for us, but for the household helpers we had before. things like "switch off the light, wash all utensils thoroughly" and other stuff. we don't have a helper now, but my sister did not remove them yet. i think it is already part of the kitchen decoration.

Yes, I follow my kitchen rules because do not want my cat to lick up oil or get into things on the floor so have to clean up.

@hereandthere Lately when they visit, they have been better. (They must be wiser from getting slightly older? )
