Perception distorted by desire

I was randomly thinking about how we distort what we see because we want things. Like how we might have a child and see more of ourselves in the child then there really is because that is what we want. A show with paternity questions were being answered and some of the people would say things like look it looks just like him and the child didn't really look much like them in my opinion but people seemed to see it. Well that was until the paternity test came back saying that they weren't the parent then the child didn't look so much like them as if the illusion was somehow gone. I guess because reality hit.

Yeah, that can happen @lokisdad it's easier these days to determine paternity but then a man would have to admit he has doubts and that can devastate the child in question.

@rebelann that is true but there are ways to have one done without informing the child in question. My wife offered one and I was a bit surprised and thought why I don't have doubts so I said I don't need one I know its my baby do you need it lol.
