Does sitting in front of a computer reading the screen for hours make you nerdy? So what is the difference if it is a computer screen or a book? No way does it look nerdy. It makes you smarter. Keep reading and learning my friend.

that was encouraging dude. Especially if that's you in the picture, you dont look like the man who'd say this kind of thing. Anyway, as for the computer screen and book comparison, I actually think they both do give you that kind of professor-look that I call nerdish...because I think its "learning" and "knowledge" that give you that sophisticated look

no i don't. i read sometimes but not all the time. i only read books written by ann brashers. that's the only books i can get into and read completely through. i never read a book through until i read that one last year. now i'm on the 2nd book. i don't think it makes anyone boring, bookish or unattractive. it's good to sit down and read a book once in a while. if i see someone reading a book i picture them learning and expanding their minds.

I don't understand how you could say books make you unattractive. If anything, I would say they make you more attractive because it makes you look more intellectual and smart. I'm not trying to argue with you, but I don't agree. I think one of the most romantic ways to meet a guy, for me, would be in a bookstore, because that would show that we have a similar interest, and he's not one of those total bad boys or something like that.

I think that couldn't be farther from the truth. Reading helps keep your mind sharp, improves your intelligence, and gives you more information. Chances are, avid readers are more active in other activities outside of sitting on the couch reading. Still, I can't understand the unattractiveness of such actions unless you simply prefer your partners be a little less... active in exercising their mind which is the nicest way I can think to put it.

What's unatractive about having something to talk about. Reading helps us learn about the world. I don't really know what a nerd is but from what I've seen on American TV programmes there are no average Americans who are intelligent without being boring or ones who are good at sport and intelligent. I'm sure they do not portray the real Americans but I find it difficult to believe that anyone could find books boring.

I do not think that reading makes one "bookish" or "unattractive". Reading offers us insight on different cultures and interests, as well as improving our own writing skills, grammer, etc. Reading a good book provides us with experiences that we've never had or points of views that we've never thought of.
I'd rather meet an educated person than an uneducated one.
