Public Transportation

Do any of you have to take public transportation anywhere? If so, what do you think about it? My boyfriend and I have a car, but it is a manual so I can't drive it. He's been trying to teach me, but I get too nervous. Anyway, since he works evenings / nights, I have to get my daughter from school on Thursdays and Fridays, so I take the city bus. I'm not a fan of it. First off, it takes twice as long to get somewhere. For instance, the school is about 15 minutes away and the bus ride is almost an hour. I'm now picking her up from my boyfriend's parents' house since they have offered to pick her up from school, so it's only about a 40-minute bus ride. I'd still rather not have to do it. If we have the money, I will take an Uber or Lyft, just because it's much faster and more convenient, but that tends to get pricey. Especially during peak hours.

Yeah I take the bus sometimes. But I did get this preachy old bus driver lady who wouldn't stop talking to me. I tried to be polite and listen, but it was an annoying experience.

I absolutely hate the town bus here. It may only be $2 one way but boy is it annoying to take with all its stops, and the people that come on it. Glad i only use it maybe 3 times a year.

I went on a bus the other day for the first time since school.
Hated it and won't be repeating the experience.
I only did it because I lost my umbrella and it was pissing down with rain so I got the bus...I live ten minutes walk from my work but didn't want to get wet
I've got a car but don't drive to work as it is so close.
In the UK most cars are manual, I think it is called stick shift in the US
I have driven automatics but don't like them.
A manual/stick shift takes some getting used to but it is a better driving experience once you learn.

We have a metro in LA and I only use it to go certain places where parking is too difficult or costly. You give up freedom riding public transit.

I take the city bus to and from work and I don't really mind it. It is cheaper then bringing and own car and paying for parking uptown.

Since I live in a small town; there is no public transportation near to where I live.
