Getting rid of old junk

I was looking over some old stuff and notice that a lot of our stuff are junks from my parents old house. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to get rid of them. I want to rid the house of some clutter and old junk but I think my parents would mind if I get rid of some of their old stuff. what do you guys think?

It is best to ask them first. Though, most old people really are junk keepers. At my in-law's house,we throw away whatever junks there is. They don't complain, unlike when they were younger.

I guess it would be good to ask to see if anything means anything to anyone. And then other stuff if in good condition can be sold or donated.
