What kind of trick did you play in your early years.
Did you dress up,if so share us your stories on this.
I myself did not play any tricks. In the depression years we were happy to get anything.Mostly fruit for us and very little candy.
Most people did not have the fund for this.
But lot of them made home made treats.
Those days were fun and I mean fun.
We had a blast and running home to show mom and dad.
Look what we got?
No we did not play and tricks.
Tell us your experience on this.

As small kids, my sister and I would dress up and go around the neighborhood we lived in to trick or treat. Our Mom would walk with us. Other kids & Moms' did the same thing. One year my sister & I dressed up as ghosts. My Mom had old white sheets. She cut out holes for the eyes and mouth. It was fun.

When I was a child, I only had one Halloween on the time we were in the US. We did not have Halloween in my country. We got dressed up by a costume my mother made for us. And we went for treats.

@amadeo She made a gypsy costume for me as I always wanted to be a gypsy when I was a girl.

We would dress up usually as hobos (we didn't have the costumes the kids wear these days) took a pillow case and sent the day going from house to house and would come home with a bounty of candy. We didn't play tricks but certainly have fond memories of those days when we could go out trick or treating without parents

I used to hit every single house that I could and stayed out really late since I had two older brothers.

We wore costumes and went door to door getting homemade goodies, fruit and candy. Usually it was cold and I wore longjohns under my costume.

I'm pleased to say that very few people over here actually *celebrate* it. More little children go out now with their parents, but tend to stick to each other's homes when knocking. Teenagers have only ever been interested in the trick part.

I never played any tricks, but when I was a kid there was a thing called "corning". Teenagers would hide in the dark near the road and throw kernels of corn at passing cars. I've heard that some people would corn houses too, but I mostly just knew about corning cars. I guess bored rural teenagers had to figure out something to do.
