At one time, I was a Region Manager for the Jewelry Company that I worked for, for 38 years. Now I’m retired. Today, I came across one of my training class papers and I thought I would share it with you. Whether you already are a Manager or want to BE a manager, here’s some really good advice for anyone who works any kind of a job, that will help a person be BETTER at their job and perhaps EARN a bigger paycheck. These are the EIGHT Building Blocks in Creating the “Perfect Manager.” 1. Create powerful career goals and write them down. Review them often. 2. Develop an attitude of RESPECT toward everyone around you. Treat others with respect and you will receive respect. 3. Be the expert but continue learning. 4. Communicate. 5. Appreciate others. Don’t talk down to other employees. Commend them if you want better results and better working conditions. 6. Be a solutions creator. Be a problem solver. 7. Learn how to manage stress. 8. Create a look of success. It’s important how you dress and present yourself. How To Be The Expert? 1. Master your job. Do your homework. Know your job/product and policies. 2. Learn from other resources: web classes or an upline manager. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. 3. Learn what you have to do to promote to the next level and start doing it, if possible. 4. Volunteer for extra training when it’s available. 5. Be a change expert. If something isn’t working for you, change it and try something else. 6. Take the initiative/ act responsibly. Jack Penn said: “One of the secrets of life is to make stepping stones out of stumbling blocks.” This is all good advice and if you want a promotion on your job, doing these things will help you get there. Do you want a bigger paycheck?

Great advice. I am going to need a good paycheck in the future but the situation I am in right now might destroy me before anything good can happen.

@IreneVincent as brief as possible. My husband passed away in August and I do not wish to stay here all alone. I want to return to my homeland the US There I will need a place to stay and a job so that I can live a new life. First I have to sell house etc. So you see I have a very long, hard road ahead of me.

@RasmaSandra Yes, I remember your telling me about your husband passing away. I just didn't know that you wanted to return to the U.S. Selling your house could take a while, I'm sure. Do you have family in the U.S.? Where in the U.S. would you want to move?
