Mother Kills Children in Oven

It's all over the news that the mother of four children killed her one and two year old sons by putting them in a hot oven. She called a friend and told her she couldn't take the stress anymore. I''m not sure if she told her friend what she had done but the friend called the police. In the meantime the mother called the children's father on face time and showed him a picture of the two children. He rushed to her apartment and found the police already there. The two children were dead but a three year was alive and had seen what his mother had done. The father got the child out. A daughter was missing but was found at a neighbors house. The woman told the police she had left the children with a sitter but the sitter left the children alone at the apartment. That story fell apart quickly and she was carried to jail. She's being charged with murder. Her family told the police that the woman has mental problems, and always had. They had sought help for her but couldn't get it. Her children had different fathers who helped her some but not enough. The woman's baby sitter had quite and the mother had lost her job. She was in desperate straits. If somebody had stepped up and offered help these children's lives might have been saved. Or if a neighbor or relative had called DFACS they might have been saved. If someone had seen how unstable the mother really was and taken the children they might have been saved. So many ifs. But two babies were burned to death in an oven. More will probably be in the paper tomorrow. I hope investigators find the babies were dead before they were burned.

What a terrible way to go. Those poor little darlings. It makes me cry to think what they went through. It never should have happened.

It shouldn't have, the family knew she had mental problems and the dads of these kids left her alone with four kids. I don't believe I've heard of anything worse than this.

@Happy2BeMe Now there's two children left to take care of. I hope someone takes them that will take good care of them. That poor three year old that saw it all must be terrified.

Her family could have offered to give her an occasional break too. So sad and what a horrible thing for a child to see.

@RubyHawk ......Early detection of mental issues is very important. She may have had postpartum depression. So many people try to ignore these issues or are embarrassed by them and are in denial.

It's hard to understand how something like this happens. Looks like somebody could have done something to help.

@celticeagle She might have had postpartum depression.. She had three babies one, two, and three years old, and a daughter a couple of years older. Her family also stated that she had mental problems.

@Tina30219 If she's judged insane I expect she'll go into a mental hospital. And probably never come out.

I wonder why men who know that a woman has mental problems make children with those women.

@LadyDuck I keep wondering what we could do if we had a mentally unsound child who was of age and out on their own. We could offer help but we would no control of her having one child after with different fathers or where she lived. I don't envy her family.

I wonder about that too. They are much to blame. Her family said she had mental problems. I suppose men took advantage of her. Nobody stayed to help her. And it comes to losing two lives of innocent little children.

@kobesbuddy I don't believe they could. I think she has to be insane. It makes me think of the woman a few months that killed her children and was in court laughing and bowing to reporters like she was on a holiday.

I think so. If her family had offered to take the children while she looked for work or even reported the situation to DEFAX . They might still be alive. The mother might have had a complete disconnect with reality.

Lamora Williams from Atlanta, Georgia, allegedly put the two boys, aged one and two, in the oven, turned it on, and burned them alive on Friday.

It was in the Atlanta Journal Constitution yesterday. I don't have a link. It's a terribly shocking story. Since it wasn't politics I suppose CNN and BBC weren't interested.

I can't imagine it either. I wonder if she knew what she was doing. I can't think a mother would knowingly do this. But we can't understand an insane person,.She needed help but it's too late now,. When she understands what she did I don't believe she will care what happens to her.

Dropped them like they're hot. This is a very disturbing story. If it was known that the mother has mental problems, why leave her alone with the kids and not have someone checking on her? So many ifs and buts and what should have beens. Can't undo the act. But let's not forget that the woman was under alot of stress. So her mental state crumbled. Poor children.

True, she was mentally disturbed, had lost her baby sitter and her job and in the process of losing her apartment. She might not have had food for the babies. She was in dire straits. She needed help which didn't come.
