If someone hurts you... Do you hurt the person back?

It's the "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" philosophy that works in your life? Or... Do you believe more in what the law of return can do in the life of someone who has done you some harm?
How can you see yourself in a situation like this?
P.S.: "Hurt" in the board sense of the word.

Nope. Two wrongs don't make a right. Forgive the cliche, but it's true.

I used to believe if someone hurt you you could hurt them back and it wasnt bad but as ive matured and grown up i changed and think if someone hurts you you move on and let karma happen you dont try to hurt someone back

For me, I let bygones be bygones. I don't dwell on the pain, cause it has shaped me to be a better person. Also, to every action, there's an opposite and equal reaction. They hurt me, and I just take the pain, cry it out and get over it, then sit back, relax, and enjoy the misery that the universe throws at them. So I guess, it's my secret way of seeing bad to those who hurt me. Revenge is slow and sweet. Lol. I sound like a maniac. But I won't intentionally hurt the person (s).

I will teach them a lesson. But I won't hurt anyone for any reason
