That Kind Of Day

11 weeks ago yesterday, I lost my best friend to a vehicle accident. He was just 21, in the air force, ready to start his life when it got taken away. I struggle everyday. They say time heals all, but it is not healing the void I feel right now. He was supposed to watch my daughter grow up, he was supposed to be in my upcoming wedding, we were both supposed to do everything together when all of that come to a sudden abrupt stop. I will never forget the day I was sitting on my bed and got the news. It replays in my head every single day. I struggle. I look at my daughter and fall into tears as I think about what his parents are gong through. I do not think I would wish this upon anyone else, not even my worst enemy. It is a burning sensation, an empty feeling, a feeling of regret. Regret that I did not spend more time, that I did not take enough photos. That he did not know just how much he meant to me and my family. It is just one of those days were missing him is a little harder than it was yesterday. It is a daily struggle, but some days it just hits a little bit harder than others. I thought I missed him when he went to basic, but if only I would have known then what I know now, because now, missing him is an everyday thing.
