What's for dinner? October 19

What's going on the dinner table tonight? I want to know! I am making turkey meatloaf. I keep finding ground turkey on last day sales of 50% off so I stock up on it. My freezer is full to bursting with the stuff. I don't like turkey burgers but I find that it works very well in meatballs, meatloaf, meat sauce over pasta, chili, etc. To go with the meatloaf I am making homemade mashed potatoes and steamed green beans. Nothing fancy but it will be good. That's what is happening here. What are YOU having? Do tell!

Fish, roasted potatoes and peas. Your dinner sounds really good. I really like Meatloaf. You got a great deal on the turkey.

I tend to find it on that kind of sale every couple of weeks. I just make meals as usual and don't tell my husband it is turkey. If he notices, he hasn't commented.

@NJChicaa It's good, if it's fixed right. Ground venison needs moisture so I mix it with ground chuck. The chops, I brown them fast, in a tiny bit of bacon grease. The flavor of bacon, takes away the strong, wild taste.

My mom doesn't like ground turkey but I sure do, it is amazing in hamburger helper. we are having some oven roasted chicken and canned pears.

I find that when I am making it in something with a strong sauce, you really can't distinguish it from ground beef. In a burger, though, ugh. Definitely a different flavor and texture!

@NJChicaa I like turkey burger, yeah it is different but ehh I got used to it when I couldn't eat red meat haha
