Did you get a flu shot?

I have to have a flu shot this year. I have never had one before. I thought I would never get one but when I went to the doctor she told me that I would have to get a flu shot this year. She said since I had heart surgery I now have a long-term health condition with heart disease so it is highly recommended that I get the flu shot every year. I had a bad flu a few years ago and I wouldn't want to go through that again. With my chest being so tender from the surgery. I can't even imagine how hard it would be on me.
Do you get the flu shot? If so have you already had it done? She told me that I should have it by the end of the month or early November.

One of my blessings. Haven't had flu in ages. Shots here are expensive and people have gotten sick from them. So no thank you not for me.

Yes I have been taking them for 20 years. I have asthma and the flu always puts me in the hospital. I never have any problems.
I took mine a few weeks ago, I wrote about it.

I have had the odd cold but not the flu.
It would be a must for you to have the flu shot in that case.
Glad to see so well also.

Very challenging weather we have here as it blows from very hot to very cold almost in an instant so we are protecting ourselves all we can in the meantime also.

@Happy2BeMe If this is what your doctor suggested I think so. My local doctor and even my brother (who is a doctor) suggested me not to have it.

I never get the flu shot. I got it a couple times for work and it made me sick. So now I just choose not to get it.

@Happy2BeMe I don't know how true that info is because I read it online, and info on the internet is not always accurate.

I've never had one in my life @Happy2BeMe . I can't even tell you what year I even had a cold. In your case I can see why they would want you to have one.

Available here as of October 23. I have been getting them since my late parents became elderly.
My kids had flu very badly when they were young. The hospital was full and they told me to keep them at home unless it was an emergency. It is hard watching your young child burn up and struggle to breathe while trying to decide when it becomes an emergency.
I want to avoid the flu!

It is the being sick part, throwing up is hard on the chest. it weakens the system and mine is already weak because it is still healing.

I haven't gotten a flu shot yet,,but I have had them in the recent past. It depends on how much it costs me..as I am not sure it is covered now..since I had Obamacare!

It is free if the doctor orders it to be done but some places also charge. Depends where you have it done at.
