Do you have a tendency to forget appointments?

By appointments, I'm talking about like going to the dentist, the bills' deadlines, who's bringing the kids home from school, who's meeting who at some place, getting the groceries--that kind of thing.
If you're like that, don't worry there's nothing wrong with you. It's just normal for humans to forget stuff especially when you have a lot of things to remember. Do you know that, according to social scientists today, the average person today is trying to juggle more or less 50 projects/things at once?
Take note, the word is trying
And that's the case because a short-term memory can only remember 7 plus or minus 2 slots. That means you can only remember 5 to 9 things at once. This number is according to a cognitive psychologist George A. Miller. (Don't worry you don't have to remember the name. Just know that he published the work "The Magical Number Seven, Plus or Minus Two: Some Limits on Our Capacity for Processing Information", one of the most highly cited papers in psychology in 1956.)
"Why didn't we hear about this sooner?!" Right?
So what do you do to help you?
Now that you know of our limitation, let's apply what our ancestors did that we're still doing until today. Take down notes. Your small notebooks and even your mobile apps are there to help you with these things. They are your best friend. Those apps are created solely to help humans make sense of the chaos that's happening in their minds. By remembering stuff we can forget about for the moment and so that we can breathe.
Sure, there would be some people who would feel uncomfortable doing this at first because they're not used to it. It does take time to practice this muscle. But once you get to it, you're all the more be happier that you did--because those apps could never go wrong (unless you've encoded them wrong).
Try this out. I hope this helps. And feel free to share your thoughts on this. Apps suggestions are highly encouraged! (Especially ones that really worked for you.)

Every year I make sure to buy a monthly planner. I MUST write down dates/appointments/schedules or else I can easily forget (as a family we have so much going on on a daily basis). I have a smartphone, but I don't want to rely on the reminder alarms and such . . . writing it down helps me to remember things better.

I am that kind of person, and worse I'm also lazy taking down notes to notebook or to the reminders in my phone.

I did a post on forgetting things that are important or something like that or about missing appointments. Yes, I did forget something. I know I am only human, but, still I usually do not forget things. Now, I make sure I check in my diary that I carry around to write in things that have to be done each day if forgot something. I have put up notes where I can see them to make sure I do not forget.
