Do you read the whole discussion or just the title?

I posted a discussion a long time ago about reading a short discussion and not those longer ones. Why? So that I will still have time to read some of the posts here.
It is not new to me if some will not going to read my discussion and just rely on what is in the title. But sometimes I find them amusing in making a comment which is not related to the body of the discussion. It makes me laugh sometimes. And if they find comfort about that, I think it's okay.

If it's far too long or a subject I'm uncomfortable with, I don't read it or do anything at all.

@JustBhem Yes, at times I do read a long post, written by one of my friends.

I write both short and long . . . you can just tell from some of those comments whether a person actually read it or not. But most times I will end my discussion with a question . . . and I can understand if people just jump directly to that question. It's all good . . . in most cases it's just nice that someone took the time to say anything at all (unless it's something way off!).

I read the whole discussion and then if I have something to add or say, I go ahead and make a comment.

@JustBhem no. Before I post a comment, I make sure to read the whole discussion.
Of course, each one of us do things differently so I won't impose what I do to others.

Same with me, I read all the discussion first before engaging into commenting.

you will know if the user did not read the discussion if his comment is not really related to the post. i have some discussions like that, comments unrelated to the topics.

I always read the discussion. If it is too long for me to be able to read and engage then I move on.

If I stumble upon a discussion that is quite long, if I don't have time to read the entire thing or am just not in the mood for a lengthy read, I will at least read skim through the whole thing before I leave a comment. Comments have to be related to the discussion and shouldn't be generic ones, so can't really reply without at least skimming through it. I wouldn't want people to comment just for the sake of commenting, so I try not to do that either.
Also, I found it that if the title of a discussion is a question, some people will just answer that question in the comments and not read the actual discussion.

Sometimes the title can be the basis of it I will read a post or not. I do love reading through though for you never, the post may end up being an interesting one.
