Darned Ole Spiders!

I start this out by saying "I hate spiders"! We have lived in this cottage for nine years come November 1st. Well we have dwelt side by side with these spiders that make thick webs all over. My husband has bombed many times but it never gets rid of them. They hang out in the bathroom in the shower corners. I have had babies crawling down my mirror in the bathroom. I've seen them in our front room. They remind me of daddy long legs except their bodies are shaped differently, but they do have the long legs. I'm not sure what kind of spider they are. Guess I could research it, but I'm just too lazy I guess. I'll try to find a picture on bing.com that comes close to what they look like. It is a loosing battle trying to keep up with the webs! The picture I found on bing.com looks exactly like the spiders we have! Does anyone know what they are called? Do any of you have this problem? Or do you have a solution? Picture by bing.com

It certainly has long legs! I don't really know much about spiders although they don't bother me.

@JudyEv Do you get spiders in your home? I try not to think about it but at times they appear and I usually get a broom or dust brush and kill them or slap them with my hand, but I can't keep up with them. I am not as scared of them as I used to be but Oh the time one big black hairy spider fell in my lap in the car I totally freaked, my husband had to pull over and we couldn't find it. We were on our way to church and didn't want to be late so we got back in the car then it showed up on my husbands leg he opened the car door and flung it out. O my what an ordeal as this was a big black hairy spider almost like a Tranchula!!

@JudyEv Oh I still can't believe that happened to me. I hated spiders before that happened but now I just try not to think about it. And deal with them when I have to deal with them. I pray God will keep them out of my path!

@Butchcass4 We get a lot of spiders and I usually spray them but sometimes I put a glass over them then slide a piece of paper underneath and release them outside. I wouldn't be keen on having one in the car with me.

I don't like the look of that spider at all. I don't mind spiders in the garden as they do good there, but I hate them in the house. We get the occasional daddy longlegs.

@jaboUK I don't like the looks of that spider either. It's frustrating when I get in the shower and look up into the corner to see one hanging in the corner! My husband has bombed the house but they remain! Die hards is what they are!

Omg! I could barely glance at your photo, because I am terrified of spiders! I truly hope you can find a way to rid your home of them. How? I don't know.

Not all spiders are bad or harmful. In fact, most aren't. I leave the spiders in my house alone. You may like this guide though.

@Marty1 I had one that dropped down on my head and I backed up (I was in the bathroom doorway) I felt my head and nothing there then I turned back around to go back into the bathroom and there he was hanging face to face. I took my hands around him and slapped them together and put an end to him! That'll teach him for dropping on my head! I freaked out! I had another incident with a big black hairy spider that dropped into my lap when I pulled the visor in the car down. O my was I freaked out. I screamed and my husband pulled over and I flew out of the car and we looked for it and couldn't find it. So we get back into the car and get ready to go and it crawls upon my husbands leg he opened the car down and flung it out. Oh my what an ordeal. I just wished they would leave me alone. One night in bed I felt something crawling on my head and it felt smooshie and I couldn't tell what it was I just grabbed it and threw it! I turned my light on and couldn't see anything ofcourse. So I don't know what that was but I pray it doesn't happen to me again.

@Marty1 We have lived in this cottage for nearly 9 years and they have been here the whole time. I really must take the time to research them to see if I can find out how to get rid of them. They make such a mess with their webs, every time I turn around I see the evidence of their continued existence in our home. I know God made them for a purpose, but I don't want them dwelling with us in our home! I'm not afraid of them per say, just hate the webs! Spiders in general if they are on me I do freak, but other than that I'll just kill em if their in our home. It's the big ones that I'm very frightened of, the big black hairy ones! And wolf spiders, ugh! Do you know Jesus?

I'm hoping some one in myLot land knows these pesty spiders and how to get rid of them once and for all! I had one land on my head, I moved and turned around in my bathroom door to look face to face at this spider I slapped my hands together and killed it, I was screeching at that point too!
