I pledge allegiance to the flag, of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it STANDS. One nation, under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for All!

Uh, oh! One thing that has certainly been on my mind lately. The United States of America has come to a point in time, where anything and everything is an issue. Just in the last couple of hours, I have been called a racist, a nazi, a c***, sent memes of being flipped off, because I believe that you should stand for the National Anthem and the Pledge of Allegiance. Now, I know, I know. I shouldn't be bringing this up at all, but if I could have a genuinely calm debate with someone on this matter I would appreciate that to the fullest. I believe in my heart of hearts, that there are people who can civilly speak to each other about a matter and have a debate. Does it really exist? Let's give it a shot?

The pledge is the reason why I chose Canada even though the immigration here is harder.

It may not hurt a fly, however, it seems to hurt a lot of feelings. Emotions have come in to a big play lately. It's become so hard to speak with people without touching on something a person might be sensitive to. Hell, I can't even say "yes ma'am" or "yes sir" to someone without it hurting their feelings about their gender sensitivity. It's not a fair game anymore. Not when everyone is so emotional.

@goodgirl_kakay I have a totally cool head. No worries on that. I'm just having a conversation. I like to discuss these things. It's a good way to keep an open mind while still holding true to what you believe in. Ya know?
