Did you ever find money on the street?

What did you do, did you pick it up to buy food or others, or you picked it up to be given to charity?
When I was still a student, I often found money on the street. I was happy because I could buy something.
I talked to a Chinese friend about the money found on the street. He said he wouldn't take the money because it might bring bad luck in the future. What do you think?

@yanzalong If I ever experience money in the future, I will definitely give food to some beggars.

Oh come on! Money is money! So, when you found something without anyone looking or searching for it then it`s not a bad luck saving or using it for yourself but if it`s in a wallet with traceable details then I`ll return it by going to a radio station to help me locate the owner

I have, and the most I ever found was a 20 dollar bill. That came in handy.

I don't see anything bad in taking the money on the street, especially when you are in need of the fund.

I pick up any money I see on the street, usually it's coins, but once I found $20 and I give it to a charitable organization since it doesn't belong to me. It's like I'm giving it to God.

That was the best thing to do when seeing something that does not belong to you and you have no idea who has it, then you surrender it to that organization; it is akin to giving it back to the Owner.

I have found the odd note on the floor before and if I had noticed it fall from someone's pocket I would let them know. However when there is no one else around it's harder to find the owner. I have never found a huge sum of money and in this circumstance I would hand into the police to locate the owner.

If there is no identification of the owner, anyone can claim the money you found.

I found a coin for 500 pesetas and I gave it to a charity fund in our bank.
But then I wish I had not as the Bank or one in the Bank kept all the money that was there for the fund.
Hard to say who is right or wrong.
If I had had any details I would have gone to the Police with it.

Wow your are very lucky in that case. well, there's no harm of following such beliefs but my question is , if you didn't get that money, who will do it, right? maybe you can get it and donate to those who needed it most

Most of the time if I see a coin on the street, even if it's just a penny, I pick it up. I never found a dollar except once. I was going down an escalator and saw the bill at the bottom of it. I didn't bend to pick it up, because there were people behind me. Regretted it instantly. Went back to the escalator to get it but it was already gone. You snooze, you lose lol.

You were not wrong in doing it unless it had identification of the owner.
