Earlier this spring I and family enjoyed one week stay in London. The week spent was more enjoyable due to nice spring weather & celebrations of all kinds that week at London. Our stay was comfortable due to a corporate guest house accommodation we got close to Hyde Park in Westminster that was within our budget. We went to all places of tourist attraction using sight seeing tours that start from Hyde Park; we did shoping and resturant visits by buying daily bus pass tickets. Enjoyed early morning jogs in Hyde Park. I recommend same to all my friends.

Yes, there's lots to do in London, from shopping to sightseeing to cruising on the Thames.
The nightlife is good as well, and the streets are never empty. There's a buzz about the place that you don't seem to find in many other places. York, of course, is another city that has a day and night buzz, and is steeped in history, as London is.
Perhaps you might try York next time you need a break, if you haven't already been there. You won't be disappointed.

Stonehenge is awesome. It's a great pity they fenced the actual stones off, but even so, I felt some quite amazing powers there. It was kind of calming... one of the best places in England, second, perhaps to Chalice Well Gardens in Glastonbury. But, that's another story. :-)

When I went to London I stayed near King's Crossing. Every morning I'd go out to buy The Times, a cup of coffee, & walk to Russell Square where I'd read the paper & just take in the gorgeous weather that I lucked out in getting during my stay. It was fantastic. I miss London so much. My dream is to live there for a few months.
