He got 90 days in jail for slashing tires on 27 cars

Eugene, Oregon
October 26, 2017 11:27am CST
I wrote a while back about the 36 year old son of an adjacent town's mayor slashing tires on 27 cars. Defense attorneys had wanted probation, but the judge wanted the defendant held accountable. He claimed that he was in an "alcoholic blackout while doing all that damage. This is the same young man, whom, a few years back, was voted best looking bartender in Eugene. Maybe the title went to his head. He is also required to pay victims $6500 in damages. I hope he gets help with his alcoholism and finds a different job. Bartending could be hazardous to his health.

He deserves to get punished, for this crime! Those could have been innocent people or children in a classroom, that he used that knife on That bestlooking bartender is trying to pull our legs, he knew exactly what he was doing!

It doesn't seem like 90 days in jail is much of a sentence for slashing that many tires. It might just be me, but at least they put him in jail. Maybe it will wake him up.

Glad he has to pay for the damage but I wonder how long it will take or if he will even pay what he owes. He should have been given 6 months in jail.

@JamesHxstatic That may be. I wonder how many scrapes his mother has gotten him out of that most people don't know about.

Sometimes those who are outstandingly good looking can have it go to their heads unfortunately. I'm happy he has to pay back the tire damage he did. At first when I read he was *** someone's *** son - I thought he would turn out to be the local tire shop owner's kid or something lol

That is a lot of damage to the cars and imagine how their owners must have felt too. He really does need help to drop that very bad habit for sure.

@JamesHxstatic Perhaps he can see reason and get help and not do what he did before. Imagine those poor owners that have to go to work and their tyres all cut to pieces.

@JamesHxstatic Usually having to pay make people remember that they did something wrong.

That's good that he has to pay back the victims.Yeah he needs help and a new job. Bartending would led him back to drinking. My fiance is a bartender.

I hope he gets help and actually does the time. Here they are over crowded and those that are required to do weekend jail time are not doing it ( to crowded).

Maybe he can job at a tire store! lol When my brother and I were teenagers, we broke into a seaside golf course on Thanksgiving night and played smash-up derby with all the golf carts before finally driving all of them into the ocean. We trashed close to 100 golf carts. Needless to say, we were busted. Because we were underage, the judge did not sentence us to any jail time, but put us on probation and made us pay restitution. The golf course offered to let my brother and I work there to pay back what we owed them. We ended up loving the job and stayed there for a number of years!
