Favorite "Wild" Songs #4 - "Wild Side"

It's yet another music theme started by @FourWalls that I am using: songs with "wild" in the title. I am at #4: "Wild Side" by Motley Crue.
The lead track on Motley Crue's 1987 album, Girls, Girls, Girls, "Wild Side" is a flat-out rocker, a fantastic piece of 80's metal. It's also, as Wikipedia puts it, a song with no actual guitar solo, a rarity in 80's metal, as well as being one of the few songs from the band that utilizes tempo changes.
Released as a single, "Wild Side," written from the point of view of a gang member, failed to chart. Oddly, to me, because it is superior to the title track, which landed on four charts in three countries.
I've mentioned this before, but except for a couple of songs, and their album, Shout at the Devil (which I think is really good,) I am not really a Motley Crue fan. However the few songs of theirs that I do like, I seem to really like them.
Such is the case with "Wild Side." I've linked to the very energetic video, which depicts the band performing the song in concert.
Enjoy!

Well, they are loud aren't they? Trying to expand my appreciation for the 80's hair bands by giving this a listen. Video was wild! According to a source I read the band wrote this as tribute to their lives in Los Angeles, in addition, Nikki Sixx was seeing a Catholic school girl at the time and used the Lord's prayer as partial inspiration to write the tune. Pretty cool

I read that too. I should have included it, but I am trying to keep these a little shorter.

@dgobucks226 - Having something in reserve for responses is definitely one reason. Plus, most people aren't going to want to read a long discussion about music that they care nothing about.

@teamfreak16 I do the same! You can't put every little detail in there. Too much analysis causes paralysis Plus, I get to fill in a blank in my responses to your very interesting posts

surprising how revolutionary the lack of guitar solo actually is

Rare for 80's hair metal. Every song had a guitar solo, even the ballads.

Hm. Odd it wasn't more popular because I always liked "Wild Side" better than say "Girls, Girls, Girls"
