Whenever I eat my meals, I always use a spoon. Only spoon. My mother also only use a spoon. So, when we eat at home, we never use fork. Only a spoon. But, when I eat out, sometimes I use both spoon and fork.
What about you?

but when you travel, i guess you have to use spoon, fork and knife depending on the country and the type of restaurant you're eating in.

@hereandthere Of course we will follow the new habits to use spoons, forks and knives. It is no problem. Actually if we have a meal in a western restaurant here, we will use forks and knives.

True. But when I eat out at the restaurant, I just hold the fork with my left hand and don't do anything with it. I just use the spoon to eat
Anyway, how do you learn using chopsticks?

Most of the times yes, but when the situation calls for it, I can eat with my hands as well.

@allen0187 I never learned to eat with my hand. Once I tried to eat fried rice with my hand, and then the rice on my hand fell scattered before it reached my mouth.

Most of the times, we eat roti, chappati or rice.. So our hands are useful on that time.
If we go out in hotel or restaurant.. May be spoon or fork is used.

@A_loves_B no dear, we can't..nobody can. In fact, it's the pleasure in eating with hands.. You can eat rice...but I feel empty if I use spoon. So I use hand. And you can't eat roti with spoon.

I just cannot eat without spoon and if the items are such I may need fork also. Many people in India eat with their hands and it is a common practice. However, if I am at such a place where I am required to eat with hand, I would request the host or the eatery to arrange for spoon.

@A_loves_B i tried, but couldn't learn how. thankfully, the restaurants here that offer other food from other asian countries also provide spoon and fork, although, yes, there are filipinos who know how to use chopsticks.

Yes, me too. If I am asked to choose between spoon or fork, I will choose a spoon. Have you ever tried using chopsticks?

Yes, that's true. Both spoon and fork are needed for eating. But it becomes my habit that I only use a spoon to eat.
