Sometime I feel like I am an ungrateful person

Lately I have been feeling depressed with my work. I've joined a company for almost 8 months doing administrative job. I won't babble about how suck the job is and how difficult the people I work with in length. You get my point. As much as I am happy to be earning a living, I did not enjoy it. The main reason is I'm quite an introvert. Don't get me wrong, I have no trouble engaging myself with other people but I rather be alone with myself and doing my own thing. Trying my best to console myself. Keep telling myself that I should be grateful to be able to work and earn a living but at the end of the day, I feel so unhappy. What do I enjoy doing? Baking and cooking. I love baking and cooking for other people, although I don't enjoy eating my own cooking ?? I just love to be able to focus on creating a dish or a new cupcakes recipe. There's this sense of contentment and happiness whenever I do it and when my family and friends compliment me on my food. Would love to try my hand in selling cupcakes or baking goods online. Maybe someday. I can't help but feel that I am ungrateful. For not being happy with my current work and wanting to get a new job. I'm sorry for sounding like a spoiled brat. I just need to vent this frustration. As I've been keeping this feeling to myself and I don't want to inform my love ones regarding this.

I'm sorry. Sometimes when we have this desire to do something else, something more, it could be because we were meant to do something more than what we settled for. Have you considered keeping your job but maybe make selling cupcakes a thing you do on the weekend? Special events for co-workers weddings/birthday parties, etc? You could maybe do both and who knows, if you do become successful with your baking career it could one day be your full time job ?

Yes, I am planning to do so and currently making the list of things to buy and formulate a business plan to sell cupcakes online and offline. Am planning to sell my cupcakes at a car booth sale and maybe send out some mini cupcakes sample for my friends to have a taste and maybe share their feedback. Just to gauge the market

I understand and sometimes we just have to walk away from jobs for that reason..I have been there..you need to take care of you and do what makes you happy.

Thank you so much for your kind words Hillary. I'm doing my best to decide whether to stay with my current job or start looking for a new one. Hopefully I am able to stay in this current job for at least another 4 months. At least I stay for a year in this company.. With the economy nowadays, it's very risky to quit a job on a whim

I understand this. I've felt it myself. You feel like you should be grateful for the good things and, of course, we should be but that doesn't mean we must be happy with every aspect of everything. If you're able to look for a new job then do it but make sure that is really what you want. I mean, don't go into a new job that you don't really know if it's for you simply out of desperation to leave your current one.

I think you`re in a stage of "Burn Out". That`s why you`re feeling depressed about your work So give yourself a reward or go out somewhere with a friend and enjoy your hard earned money!

I guess you just need a break to release stress or have something new for you to be motivated like new shoes or watch, it works for me. When i feel so lazy going to work i buy new shirts or shoes for me to be excited to dress up. Hope this helps.
