Over the past ten years that I’ve lived in my house, I have had just two trick or treaters. It just isn’t done so much over here in the uk.
I wondered - are you guaranteed trick or treaters where you live?

Yes and no. The city I live in is big on trick-or-treaters, but I live a bit too far out of the actual city to get any trick-or-treaters. In 2015, we set out a bowl of candy on our porch (my OCD caused me to count each piece) and when I recounted later that night, not a single piece had been taken. However, our pumpkins had been smashed. So while we didn't get an trick-or-treaters, we did get jerks-r-us.

That’s such a shame.
Why do some people have to ruin things like that

@YesWay I don't know, but thanks to our neighbors we caught the hoodlums. Their parents made them clean up the mess. So our disposal was taken care of. They got taught a lesson, and we didn't have to clean up the pumpkins. Win/win!

I live in California, and there's always trick or treaters every year in my neighborhood. I don't think that's going to change here anytime soon. Even malls, coffee shops, barbar shops, and grocery stores here give out candy.

That is so different from over here where I live. I can’t imagine it.
