Hi myLotters!
Hope you had a good halloween holiday
As for myself i did not have a good one unfortunately because i could not sleep. Call it Insomia or sleep deprivation, i have this condition since time and memorial.
I have been drinking antehistamine just to make myself sleep but i know this could be addictive so i stopped and i just take it once in a while.
What makes me wonder i always wake up in the middle of the night even if i sleep early or late and it is always 3am, they say its the “witching hour”. I am definetly not a witch but does this have to do with my body clock or something?
Any idea? Appreciate your thoughts

I too get that sometimes. Could be hormonal as I've been told by an OB Gyne. Just try to relax as much as you can and stay away from things that can keep you awake. If you do wake up at 3am, try reading or praying.

Perhaps it is your body clock. Do you feel like peeing when you wake up?

@coolchai then that might be the reason why you are getting up in the middle of the night. Limit your fluid intake at least two hours before going to sleep and try peeing first before going to bed.

that is quite scary, to wake up during the witching hour. I woke up at that time for a few days after i watched Amityville horror it was quite freaky since i had trouble going to sleep again.
Maybe you have a lot on your mind? Drinking milk before sleeping helps me too, and also peeing before sleeping.

THANK YOU Looks like I'm not the only one who sleeps at three in the morning. I hate it too but for some reason I couldn't afford to sleep. Honestly it's not good to sleep at that time, I can barely sleep five hours after that.

I'm a "night owl" by nature. My mom used to tell me I'd pull my hair out as a baby to keep from going to sleep.
I can tell you what I've been told: limit caffeine after a certain time (I usually don't have any caffeine after about 2 PM), don't eat too soon before bedtime, try meditating, use "white noise" like rainfall sounds or a fan. It seems to work for me most of the time, but I still have "days." Or, I guess I should say, nights.
Good luck.

I also have nights that can`t sleep well but I think it`s more on stress or about your hormonal imbalance problem. I hope you can get some check up appointment with your doctor
