Exactly how much are we being paid in mylot?

Can anyone tell me if I am right to ask how much we are being paid here on mylot? As far as I am concerned, I have already written almost forty discussions. I have responded to the comments to the best of my ability, I have also commented on other discussions, as soundly as I can. Then I checked my earnings. Just a dollar? All the long days, and nights, for a mere dollar? I really want to cry.

First of all, the actual amount per interaction almost certainly varies depending on how much money is available each month to pay users. Secondly, when you post anything - a discussion, a response or a comment - it is only eligible for earnings. How much it actually earns depends entirely on how much interaction it receives from others. If nobody interacts with your post in any way, then it will earn nothing. Of course, it's important to post discussions, respond to other people's discussions and to comment in your own and other people's discussions but it's only when other people interact with you that you will earn anything at all and what you will earn depends on how useful, interesting and relevant other people find your posts and you have little or no control over that (except, of course, by making them as interesting, useful and relevant as you can, which I see that you do, on the whole).

@eileenleyva No site is going to tell you what its revenue is and how much (in dollars) it shares with users. That kind of information is only divulged to the owners, any shareholders and the Inland Revenue.

@owlwings Yes, I believe that is top secret, business-wise. That is why I am not a business person. That's all right. I suppose I just have to enjoy mylot without minding the payment. If I ever get paid at all. Thanks again Owlwings. I am a little educated tonight. Ha ha

Thank you for clarifying further. So the budget is a consideration all of us mylotters are at the mercy of. I just wish the owners could be transparent enough and tell us at the beginning of each month how much is allotted for our effort. I don't even know how many of us are vying for how much. Any way, as someone pointed out, all of us are dispensable. We joined with our own volition. Sigh. It is a hard knock life, isn't it.

I'm not dependent on the income I get from myLot. I probably wouldn't be on this site if they didn't offer the revenue, but it's not "my bread-&-butter" (or 'my rent & utilities' ). The truth: we're not really being "paid" at all. It's more like we're 'winning gifts' from myLot (even tho they call the gifts "payment")

That is the truth, ain't it. There's really no monetary compensation. What are the gifts? Oh well, I am stubborn, am I not. I wouldn't go through that FAQ. It would give me a headache, I know. Anyway, I would just consider mylot a worthy pastime. As in reaching out to virtual friends, for whatever assistance my posts could bring them. Thank you.

I'm addressing the crying part. I wish I could make you laugh instead? I think of this like the spider man movie. In the movie a boy (spider man) goes to the editor of a newspaper with pictures for sale. The editor in the movie says "crap all crap" I will give you one dollar for the whole bunch. He is a very mean man. It is a funny silly fictional comparison only for me and hope it can be funny for you too. Freelance go freelance.

You made me feel so much better. The allusion to Peter Parker's travail is brilliant. First, I love that comic superhero Spiderman very much. Second, you reminded me so much of life's enduring sacrifice. Thank you very much.

@Bluedoll With age, and in hindsight, I tend to laugh at the silly moments that made me cry. Sometimes, I did feel so ashamed of my self. I cried because of trivial matters? It wasn't me. Oh well. Learned how precious the tears are after realizing the world goes on and I was the only one crying. Friends did help. So, my sincere gratitude.

I think you got the answers you were looking for. Some days I earn more by interacting without even posting my own discussions.

Yes, I did. Still wondering about the gifts. but I am fine. I almost cried last night when I saw my dollar pay. I don't look at it when I discuss and respond. Wanting to know how I fared, I checked. And was devastated. All the work for a mere dollar. That's how much I buy a burger for a stranger, Sigh. I want so much more burgers to give to the hungry.

@joanwanjala I don't post discussions every time I'm here either. Some days I just have enough time to clear my notifications.

Interaction is the key. I don't write many discussions but we've had lively discussions and my bank moves forward...slowly buy steadily.

All right, I got it. Thank you. I just pray that the owner and the administration are as fair, to each and every one around the globe. As I recall, I had already $98 before mylot reformatted. With the new mylot, I lost all my keep. I thought that wasn't fair. Who took my earnings? Sigh.

@eileenleyva Wow that's horrible. You should contact someone about that. How did you make so much by the way? Doesn't sound possible by the looks of the first post in this thread.

@eileenleyva If you had that amount before myLot stopped paying in April 2013 and you weren't paid, it may have been either because you hadn't entered a valid PayPal ID/email address in your profile OR because you hadn't been active at all in the month of April that year. At that time, myLot had become very short of cash and was, in fact, being taken over by another company, but it DID pay (or try to pay) everyone who met certain criteria which were (a) that they had been active (which meant that they had merely logged in once) during the month of April 2013 and (b) that they had $5 or more in their account. There were a few who weren't able to be paid, even though they apparently met these criteria because there was a problem with their PayPal accounts. Anyone who had difficulties or queries about payment was able to contact the administration, who really did go to great lengths to make sure that everyone who could be paid was paid. Of course, anyone who wasn't around to see the notifications and discussions which were posted may not have known about them and so wouldn't have known to contact the appropriate person if they hadn't been paid. It's probably much too late now to do anything about it because when a company changes hands, it will limit its commitments to the original company's clients or debtors.

You are not paid for what you wrote like other sites do. Here in Mylot you are paid for what other write on your started posts so better attract more people in your posts to earn more.

Thank you very much for that very important advice. I did gather that, from our friends here. Now I do my best to respond to other discussions, too. I contend that if I begin helping others, they would also help me. Eventually, I know that we will all be paid well.

40 discussions and you have more than 9000 interactions for $1, seems like low. You mean you haven't received payment with that activity.

Nope, I haven;t. In the beginning, before mylot reformatted, I did have $98. Then it was all gone. I started with zero again. Now, after many discussions, I am still struggling to see some money at the right hand corner, Friends advised that I interact with other friends, to earn.

If you make $5 or more by the end of each month then you go on to earn as much as you can after that to get paid by the 15 of each month or before that. It varies with each person.

May a lot of friend and interaction so you can earn too. Some mylotters that have been here for morethan 3 years now have 46 responses etc. While new comer like me only have 5 or six if lucky. I wish mylot can add more ways of earning right?

Oh no. You noticed also that little detail. Good news is, I have been here eight years. Took a leave because of my load of work as a mother and as a parishioner, and as a dutiful citizen in the community, Came back here recently. Guess what? Status quo. Hu hu. I am as much as a beginner as you. For me, having three or four responses is already a blessing. I go ecstatic when there are more. At least, I don't feel my discusiion was a nincompoop. Let's linger., Our luck might change. Ha ha. I rejoice, actually, in the satisfaction I get from exchanging ideas. The conversations are priceless,

Coming from you, I must exercise patience. It is the virtue that I needed to work on since I was young. I used to say Patience is not my virtue. As one grows old, however, patience becomes a companion. Ha ha Thank you.
