Doing NaNoWriMo

Welcome to November first and the first day of NaNoWriMo. I have pondered the last couple days whether I was going to do this 50K word challenge, or let it go. However, I'm a writer, and writing is what I do. With Freedom's Cry now finished and published, my plate was free to write something new, even though I do have Uncertain Future to work with. I will let that one sit until the end of the month, and resume it again in December.
I also need to work on Thread of Evidence as I get that one ready to publish sometime next year, but even that one can wait one more month.
Yes, I'm all signed up and I've been working on my new novel, started just today for the next 30 days, a sci-fi novel entitled New Horizons.
I just plugged in my first word count for today, so far at 1849 words. I started this one out with the problem, so no guessing what it will be as I did with Uncertain Future.
My problem is stopping long enough to interact here, which I'm going to do now, and will update you throughout the next 30 days as to my word count total, which needs to be 50K by the end of the month.
I also had my hair done today, so I don't look shaggy and gray any longer, but I resemble my picture once again.
What have you been doing today? Thanks for reading.

Did you attended any writing classes, during college days? I had one class English-111, it was basically writing which I liked.

@kobesbuddy That course was. I got my diploma through Institute For Children's Literature. I learned a lot that is also appropriate for adults, not just children and has been greatly beneficial for me.

They give you a daily word count so you can keep on track of 1667 words per day. That makes it a lot easier than looking at the whole and wondering if you can make it or not. I've done this challenge many times before without a problem. I always went over the word count and expect I will this time as well.
Enjoy dinner and trivia.

Today was just work work work for me. I worked at the preschool in the morning. I graded Scantrons from the College in the early afternoon. And then I saw a difficult kid client. I blew off band practice this evening to watch the World Series, but am doing some speaker work while I watch the game. Who are your influences in the sci-fi world?

My late X read a lot of Heinlein, Clark, and Asimov. I read a few of their works as well.
