Duterte signs law on free college tuition
“The law will be prospective, not retroactive, since academic year 2017 to 2018 is already ongoing,” Diokno said.
“Hence, in the immediate term, we’re talking of academic year 2018 to 2019, strictly speaking, the first semester,” he added.
He also stressed the government has yet to come up with an estimate on how much the program would cost. (philstar)
But can this really help our country to grow?

@Jotomy our facility is also not great especially in a remote provinces, like me back when i was a student as computer programmer, we only work in computer 1hour - 3hour per week many time we used to code in a notebook only, because we cant buy the computer. So for me this free tuition is not actually a help for the student (it is only the gateway for them to experience college life) if their family don't have a permanent job with great salary, they cant continue their study because of the daily expenses. house rent and price of basic needs in a city is to big.

I do think it would help at least on the long term basis but it's only one and small factor and there are so many things that needs to be improved not just in the education system for our country to actually "grow" and progress
