Stressing out over a stupid test that was for a job!

How I feel now!
November 4, 2017 12:24am CST
Ok here it goes..I was given the opportunity to take a test for a 14 dollar an hour job. The handbook was 160 friggin pages and they wanted people to study for 10 hours a day! It stressed me out so bad I wound up at the hospital 3 times with chest pains.I failed the test and I actually was relieved! I studied so much. What I would like to know is how would everyone would feel pass or fail?

"wound up at the hospital 3 times with chest pains"? I hope this is just a way of talking. That would be a serious health issue. You should take care to discover any underlying medical condition that could cause this. A cardiologist could be of help here. Some measure to reduce stress in general too.

You'll pass. No doubts about it. You give your all and I believe you'll get it back

My father once told me to find a job that I love doing simply because I would spent much of my life doing it. Is this job really what you want? If it is, study the handbook over a much longer time. I bet that job will come open again in the future and no one could get a better score on that test than you.

Wow, can't help wondering what test that is. Sorry to hear that it caused you so much stress. Your health is definitely more important, maybe you'll get a better opportunity.

sometimes you are relieved to fail in one test because you know you are freed.

With that kind of dedication and perseverance...I say Wow, you gave your all, even to the extent of sacrificing your own health...sadly you said you failed, hey.. it's not the end of everything...if doors are closed for you, God will open up doors and better opportunities for you...

You feel stressed maybe because that is not your dream job, or you keep thinking that you must passed the test because of the salary rate, well everyone want to have good salary but it is better if you like the job too. I feel the same as you in my past job i like only the salary but not the job so i quit after 2 years on working in that company. And focused on getting my dream job that I will love to work everyday and stay on it for the rest of my life. I'm happy you are now okay. Hoping you will find our dream job or job that you will love to work, Good luck,

We all feel anxious when we are being tested, cause more or less we all fear uncertainty. However I can tell you only one thing: no test is worthy of your health. So next time you re feeling like that (and I hope you won't), just keep in mind that you will be in those types of situations all your life, they will come and go, but nothing will ever restore your lost nerves

Expecting people to study for 10 hours a day is too much - not sure if that would worth the $14/hr and certainly would not worth all the stressing... Welcome to myLot, by the way!

I would study and try but tests do not give me stress. I hope you feel better now.
