Big Plans for This Weekend

Canada
November 4, 2017 5:17pm CST
There is a soccer tournament going on at the local high school and the football playoffs so it might get busy at work. Currently, I'm not scheduled for tomorrow but they might call me in. That would put a cramp into it all but I need the money so I won't mind. In the name of trying to get my woodworking rolling, I'm making simple items that can be made mainly from materials I can get for free. I video or photograph the process and put it on my YouTube channel: MFCP Woodworking. I also make accompanying how-to articles on Hubpages if that would be helpful. I only have one video up on rustic hair sticks and a short intro but if I don't have to work tomorrow I should get a slideshow up and possibly another video. I'm pretty clunky with my resources right now. Hopefully, they'll start to look a little more professional as I go. In between all that, I hope to spend just a little time hobnobbing with the folks here.

I like that, sounds like me. Clunky with my resources.

It's kind of hard to watch my own work sometimes. I know I could do it better. Hopefully, I can consistently work at it and get better with time.

People love to watch "how to" videos on YouTube, I hope you will have a good success.

The potential for income from that source may be enough to get my woodworking business rolling. I find I'm in a situation where I either don't have quite enough capital or quite enough time to get over the hump.

@koopharper I know that YouTube does not pay a lot, but if you get many visits you can make a little money there. Time is always the major problem.

I am still learning how to upload video to youtube and earn some there. Hubpages, ah that rings a bell.

I'm lucky. I have kids who figure out this stuff a lot faster than I do. They help me out when I get stuck. I've never been terribly active with Hubpages but at least my efforts add to my meagre bank there. YouTube won't start paying anything till I have 10,000 views. Seeing as I have less than a hundred after two weeks this could take awhile.

It is when everything is going right. I better get to bed though or I won't get anything done tomorrow.

It’s nice to see you on here. Saturday was spent recovering from very little sleep the night before(cleaning up vomit, a trip to urgent care and relentless coughing from my 6 year old), so there is plenty of laundry and cleaning to catch up on.

Nice to see a segment of the family still hangs out here. Sounds like you still have your work cut out for you today. I've gotten a few things done already today. Still, have time to get the stuff I planned to do finished.

@Morethanamom tsk tsk. I got the one video up on Youtube. Slideshow format wasn't easy to do though. Windows 7 doesn't have a pause or back button when you are working in full screen. Wesley and I found a way around it but it was labour intensive. I stutter and stammer too much when I have too many technical variables to watch at the same time.

@koopharper I got some of it done. I also let myself get sidetracked by a book. Oops.
